BPC-157

BPC-157 is a synthetic pentadecapeptide — fifteen amino acids — derived from a partial sequence of a protective protein first characterized in gastric juice. It is one of the most widely handled compounds in tissue-repair research, with a literature spanning tendon, ligament, muscle, and gastrointestinal injury models.

Most of what is known about BPC-157 comes from animal work: rodent models of tendon transection, muscle crush, and induced gastrointestinal damage, where investigators have reported effects on angiogenesis, fibroblast migration, and growth-factor expression. Human clinical evidence remains thin, which is exactly why the compound stays in the research column rather than the medicine cabinet.
